This is a software tool that lets you convert PDF documents to RTF formats.
PDF documents have become the de-facto industry standard for document interchange. PDF documents display better and you get WYSIWYG in print. The popularity must have come from these two good features. However, if you need to edit any of these documents, you will have to invest in expensive Adobe tools. That difficulty has spawned a market for tools that can convert the PDF documents into MS RTF or Doc formats. These then become editable with tools most of us are familiar with and have them available anyway. That leaves the task of the edited Word documents to be converted back to PDF for easy distribution. There is a whole set of products that do that, once again saving you the expense of Adobe tools. This tool does the conversion from PDF to RTF and other Word compatible formats.
This is a batch converter and thus most of the interface is given over to the batch list display. The controls that let you create a list of files are intuitive; you do not have to fiddle around to find them or to derive the meaning from the button/icon of what it does for you. As you collect the files, the list indicates both the name and the file size so that you are sure you picked the right ones. The tool will preserve the original layout including image. You could choose to convert text only without the images. Format choices include DOC/DOCX and RTF. Selective page ranges also can be converted rather than the full document. In case of a password protected document you will need the password, of course. This is a handy tool.
